Okay, after working almost one year for a Job Search website I, like many others in this country am also unemployed. I have now put the talents I have recently obtained into my efforts on attempting to find a job.
I have used many job search websites. I have applied for many jobs. Upwards of 30 jobs or more. That's probably like applying for 1 job per each day of unemployment.
Now, for the total number of responses that I have received....
ZERO! NADA! NUNCA!
I'm not giving up. I'm not discouraged. I'll just keep plugging away.

I want a new Job
Did you ever wonder how a term or a statement got started? I sometimes wonder what people were thinking of when they uttered the statement for the first time. Whoever started the term "It Is What It Is"? I'm guessing that it might have been an athlete or politician that started it?
"Not for nothing?" What the heck does that mean?
"To tell you the truth..." Well I hope that you are telling me the truth.
Some statements are taken from songs and made into everyday language.
"Same as it ever was" - Talking Heads
"Baby I was Born To Run" - The Boss
One of my new favorites of an older song is Huey Lewis And The News' song 'I Want a New Job'. Oops I mean Drug. If you substitute the word Job wherever the word Drug is within the song, it still works!
I want a new Job!
One that does what it should
One that won't make me feel too bad
One that won't make me feel too good
I want a new Job!
One with no doubt
One that won't make me talk too much
Or make my face break out
One that won't make me nervous
Wondering what to do
One that makes me feel
Like I feel when I'm with you!
I want a new Job!

My First Job
Technically my first job was earning an allowance. My job description included taking out the garbage, cutting the grass, washing the car and any other task bestowed upon me by my loving parents.
However my first real job was a busboy at Sandalini's Restaurant. I started working there shortly after I turned 16 because now I needed to pay for my gas. My job description started out as normal busboy activities. Breaking down tables, setting up tables, cleaning up spills, pouring water, pouring coffee, fetching bread and other duties assigned by the hostess, the waitress, the kitchen, the dishwasher and any other job in the restaurant. Because the busboy was the lowest job in the restaurant.
After a few months, I started receiving extra benefits. Not anything that I could put in my pocket but I received more duties. Things that I ended up using later in my life. I got to whip the butter. I helped the salad girl. I became a temporary dishwasher. I became a bar-back. I went to the supply store. I even got to cook steaks.
My point is that through hard work and dedication, somebody will recognize your efforts and reward you accordingly.

I Love Fridays!
I love Fridays! Doesn't everybody? I mean ever since I was a kid, I would look forward to the weekend. Even my teachers were nicer! I couldn't believe how much fun I had on Fridays versus the rest of the week. Everything always seems to go easier. The food tasted better. Everybody seemed like they were in a more festive mood than the rest of the days of the week.
Now on Saturday mornings, I get up early and get right on the computer. Cartoons on Saturday morning aren't the same that they used to be. I get my share of SpongeBob and Timmy Turner daily.
So now I get my computer fix looking at the job sites.

The Angry Co-Worker
The Angry Co-Worker
There always seems to be that one person in every job that I have ever had. The Angry Co-Worker. You know the one that I'm talking about. The person who absolutely hates their job. I mean hates their job. I just could never figure out if they really hated their job or just hated their lives and the job was the only place where they could vent their frustration.
I always wondered about that person. I wondered about their background. Was it their background or work history that made them so angry with everybody? I wondered about the events leading up to their hostile attitude. The funny thing is that I didn't always remember that person being so angry when we first started working together.
